Extracts from Reports of Christian Science Committees on Publication

The newspapers of the Transvaal continue to be friendly to the Christian Science movement. Last October the East Rand Express published an account of the dedication of First Church of Christ, Scientist, Boksburg, with a photograph of the church building.

One editor of a Reef newspaper told an Assistant Committee that he is greatly impressed with The Christian Science Monitor. The editor of one of the leading Afrikaans daily papers also spoke to an Assistant Committee about the Monitor. He stated that he loves the Monitor, and that it is the finest paper that he knows. He always reads the editorials and the Home Forum page from end to end. He further said that there must be a great deal in Christian Science or so many intelligent, educated people would not take it up. And to be a real Christian, you must be intelligent, and true Christianity must be Science.

The Lesson-Sermon excerpts continue to be printed by three newspapers and it is anticipated that two more will be carrying the good news in the near future. This work will be extended to other papers as our movement grows in the Transvaal. There is no doubt that these Lesson-Sermon excerpts break down prejudice against Christian Science and bring healing and comfort to those inquirers who read them.
