The first definite statement made to me of Christian Science...

The first definite statement made to me of Christian Science was that "all good is real, all evil unreal," and on this basis of thought many questions which for years had greatly troubled me have been answered. I first read "Unity of Good" by Mary Baker Eddy, following it with "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by the same author, and then took up the regular study of the Lesson-Sermons in the Christian Science Quarterly. Several months later I realized that I had been free for some time from almost continuous severe headaches of several years' standing. Just when they dropped away I cannot tell. When Christian Science came to my notice I had been having regular medical attention for nearly three years. All medicines on hand were immediately discarded, and as my thinking grew clearer and more certain, various beliefs of sickness were gradually dissolved.

Healings of the following are among the blessings I have experienced through this Science: a long-standing tendency to frequent heavy colds and catarrh at all seasons, great difficulty in breathing, weakness, weariness, nervous exhaustion, suffering from heat, convulsions, fevers, lingering cough, grippe, influenza, poisoned system, paralysis, grief, and an oppressive mental condition which I now understand to have been the result of extreme nervous strain. Work was last done on my teeth about two months before Christian Science came into my life, and since then, at regular inspections by dentists, they have been pronounced in perfect condition—this over a period of twenty years.

I am very grateful for all the healings received in Christian Science, and above all for the understanding I am gaining of the one infinite God—the all-governing Mind, and man's relation to Him—with consequent joy, peace, happiness, and an ever increasing confidence and trust in the power and ever-presence of divine Love. I am deeply grateful for our Leader's consecrated life, her love and devotion to divine Principle, which prepared her to receive, for the benefit of all mankind, the revelation of the Comforter promised by the Master. Membership in The Mother Church and a branch church is a constant source of joy for which I am very grateful. I also desire to express my sincere gratitude to all who have lovingly helped me along the way.
