Thy Secret Place

Lord , to Thy secret place I come,
Seeking its sweet repose;
To me there is no dearer home—
Here joy of Spirit glows.
Here Love will silence pain and strife,
Banish all anxious care;
Here will I taste the bread of Life
In quietness and prayer.

Breathe Thou Thy calm upon my heart,
May I Christ's cup partake;
Let me commune with Thee apart,
Humbled for Thy dear sake.
Cleansed by the sacramental wine,
Strengthened to do Thy will,
May I go forth to help mankind,
Wrapped in Thy presence still.
