Signs of the Times
[From the Times, London, England]
Parents long to start their children from the level which they have themselves attained. Materially it can be done. Spiritually there are grave limitations to the possibility. The young life is no empty vessel into which wise and loving mentors can pour the spiritual wealth won by their own warfare with difficulties, doubts, and fears. It is an organism of individual growth, which may within limits be helped and guided, but which cannot by any depth of devotion be spared its human task of treading its own personal path of trial.
