[Original testimony in German]

I should like to give this testimony out of a heart filled with gratitude to God and to Mary Baker Eddy. In the year 1930, while I was living in Chemnitz, I had the privilege of experiencing in a wonderful way the regenerating power of Christian Science. Were it not for its help, I should either have left this plane or else I should be suffering from a disease considered incurable. About one year before I was taken ill, a kind friend told me of Christian Science, but I was not ready to accept it. Then came the malady which I had been fearing for eighteen years, ever since my mother passed away with cancer. I went to a woman physician, who could only advise me to have an operation, referring me to a surgeon.
As I was leaving her, the thought of Christian Science came to me like a ray of hope, and I sought out a practitioner. Never shall I forget my joy when, on the second day after help was given, I noticed that I was free from the symptoms of the illness and from pain. An operation was no longer necessary. This experience seemed to me then like a miracle. Today I know that what Jesus preached and practiced was Christian Science, which he left as his legacy to humanity.
Since that time I have experienced through Christian Science many other wonderful healings and great blessings. In my prayer of thanks I lift up my eyes to God, who in His loving care brought me to Christian Science, and who gave to our revered Leader the ability to lead suffering humanity to the open fount of Truth, whence blessings daily flow.
