The Lectures

Introductions to Lectures

Knoxville, Tennessee (First Church).

Lecturer: Charles V. Winn; introduced by Robert Neal Thompson, who said:—

The earnest student of Christian Science is learning to listen to the "still small voice" which reveals the truth about God and man and the universe, in the midst of the crash and din of mortal experiences. Learning that God is not in the earthquake, wind, and fire; not in depression, disaster, and unemployment; not in sin, disease, and death, he is becoming less fearful of their boasted power to harm him. Thereby he is achieving, in a greater measure, his divine heritage of dominion. We are expecting that because of what we shall hear this evening we shall never again be quite so fearful of the discordant conditions that threaten our homes, our health, or our businesses.
