Words are inadequate to express my gratitude for Christian Science
Words are inadequate to express my gratitude for Christian Science. When a small child I had sore eyes. The family physician did all he could to help me, but the only encouragement he could offer was that I should outgrow the condition. At school age it was discovered that my eyesight was defective, and my eyes were very offensive in appearance. After several years of agony, as the eyes kept getting worse and the suffering more intense, my mother took me to another city to consult a specialist. After a thorough examination the doctor announced that an immediate operation was necessary or I should be totally blind. The next day I had the operation, and after that I underwent several other painful ones which seemed necessary to correct what the physicians termed a complicated condition. From the time of the first operation for fully thirteen years I was under almost constant care of specialists.
The condition became such that I had to wear heavyfocus, specially ground glasses in order to see at all. Finally I was advised by the doctors that there was nothing more they could do for me; that they did not know what the trouble was, but that within a short time I should be blind. They further said that I might be helped if I wanted to undergo another series of operations, but that my physical condition did not warrant this. I was even advised to consult an osteopath.
Up to this time a small fortune had already been spent, and I was deeply in debt and discouraged. Here Christian Science found me; and in six weeks after turning to it for help I was able to go to work; I was in better health and had better eyesight than I had ever known before. My glasses were laid aside and my eyes were normal. This was over twenty years ago; and I am grateful to acknowledge that the power of God healed me, through the study and application of Christian Science. I am also grateful for protection. The allness of God has been demonstrated in our home over and over again during the last four years.
