This Be My Praise
How
shal I praise Him?
I shall sing as I go,
Grateful for blessings
That Love doth bestow;
How may I serve Him?
By striving to grow
More Christlike, forgiving;
To prove that I know
No matter how dreary
The way—Love will guide,
And for each honest effort
A staff will provide.
Lord, this be my praise—
To truth I shall cling,
Forsaking the wrong,
Ever ready to bring
Some cheer to the saddened,
Some joy by the way
To those who are needing
What I have today;
And this be my service—
By my living to prove
Thy Word is the lamp
That before me doth move.
