It is with a thankful heart that I give this testimony

It is with a thankful heart that I give this testimony. Christian Science has given me a better understanding of God and has caused me to know Him as Truth and Love. I did not take up the study of Science for my own healing, although I was greatly in need of it, but because the healing of my wife had interested me. About this time I met a student of Christian Science who gave me some literature which I enjoyed, having been a student of the Bible since childhood. I purchased a copy of Science and Health, also the Christian Science Quarterly, and daily studied the Lesson-Sermon.

In a very short time I was healed of rheumatism in my kness, and of the tobacco habit. During a case of influenza, those with whom I worked suggested various material remedies, but I called a practitioner for help and lost no time from my work. I was also healed of a broken and lacerated arm. In two weeks I was able to use my arm in doing light work, and in just one month I returned to my regular work. Although a surgeon set the bone, Christian Science help was given.

In 1931 I was out of employment. I hunted for work, but secured only a few days' employment at a time, which was not enough to meet our needs. This condition lasted several months. I searched the Christian Science periodicals for articles on work, employment, supply, and substance. The testimonies in the Journal and the Sentinel were carefully read, with the hope that the experiences of others might help me in solving my problem. I continued my mental work more earnestly, put my case in God's hands, and left it to Him. A few days later a student of Christian Science came to see me and brought a telegram asking if I would accept work in a distant city. This offer was for a different kind of work, but I gladly accepted, and it has been very agreeable.
