I have received much help from Christian Science
I have received much help from Christian Science. In 1929, physical, moral, and mental troubles were piling up on me so fast that it seemed as if there were no way to turn. Several years before this, through no fault of my own, I was severely injured in an automobile accident. The case had been in court for some time, and it appeared that I was finally losing out after continued defeats. I was also urgently in need of a physical healing, which a good physician seemed unable to bring about. I was rooming in a home in which the landlady was a Christian Scientist, and I was asked by this lady to seek the help of a practitioner, which I did. I shall never forget the comfort and help I received. The accident case in court was again postponed for over a month, but I felt assured that all would be well, as later proved the case, even without a trial. In the meantime I asked for help for the physical trouble, and in a very short while I was healed.
This was only the beginning, for there were many discordant conditions to be overcome. Several years before this, I had read so much lying on my back while confined in the hospital, that when I left I could not read at all for a time. An eye specialist had told me that I should always have to wear glasses and have them changed often. This condition was soon healed. Then came healings of corns, warts, constipation, and piles. Sore hands and feet were healed only after much work had been done on many faults of disposition and character. The desire for liquor and tobacco was overcome. Sin in various forms was also destroyed. For these marvelous healings and the uplifted thought I am indeed grateful.
I owe everything to Christian Science; and am deeply grateful to the consecrated pracitioners who are so willing to help us. I give thanks for the Board of Directors of The Mother Church and for all workers in this great Cause. I am very grateful to have recently become a member of The Mother Church and of a branch church.
