As reported in your issue, a speaker, in a recent address on behalf of the medical doctor, made certain claims which, by implication at least, amounted to a criticism of Christian Scientists, who heal and have been healed without resort to so-called material remedies—often after the skill of the medical profession has failed.
Christian Scientists understand that it is impossible to serve two mutually exclusive, contradictory, and exacting masters such as matter and mind. If one believes that sickness is a condition of matter, he will resort to the matterphysician. If, however, one understands that sickness is a false belief, that it is not of God, the one Mind, hence that it is unreal, he will seek the help of a metaphysician, knowing that God blesses and heals.
