"The mountain of fruits"

There is a place spoken of in the Revelation of St. John "called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon." In a concordance table of proper names "Armageddon" is designated as, "The mountain of Megiddo, or the mountain of the gospel; otherwise, the mountain of fruits." Here are to be gathered the kings of the whole world, "to the battle of that great day of God Almighty." In this battle "the kings of the earth" and all the evils which war against good are to be destroyed.

According to the Apocalypse, on this mountain will come to pass the complete overthrow of every evil thing, of all that opposes Christ. Through the revelation of Christ Jesus, and through the discovery and establishment of Christian Science, the overthrow of all evil has begun. On page 96 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" Mrs. Eddy says, "This material world is even now becoming the arena for conflicting forces." And on the same page she adds, "This mental fermentation has begun, and will continue until all errors of belief yield to understanding." She further states, on page 505. "This understanding is not intellectual. is not the result of scholarly attainments; it is the reality of all things brought to light."

How fitting that on "the mountain of fruits" the reality of all things comes to light! On this mount of vision man is recognized as the image and likeness of God, perfect and immortal, the emanation of infinite divine Love, upright, pure, and free. Here, through spiritualized consciousness, it is perceived that God, infinite Mind, created all and called it good. This realization brings with it the accompanying knowledge that evil of every name and nature is an illusion of the material senses. As thought thus rises above false beliefs and man-made laws—"the kings of the earth"—which have so long deceived mortals, the ideal man, never separated from Spirit, unfolds to human consciousness.
