God's Eternal Day

The Scriptures abound in prophetic declaration of God's day, inspiring human thought to contemplate the beauty of real creation. How often do the words of the Psalmist sing in the heart of those who love God, good, "This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it"! This happy acknowledgment betokens an awakening to the reality of good, and to the God-given capacity of everyone to recognize and enjoy the expression of ever present and abounding spiritual good.

Mankind need not labor under the delusion that material encumbrances, imperfection, evil, sin, disease, and death are necessary. By revealing the true nature of God and man as Father and son, inseparable in their eternal relationship, our great Master taught and demonstrated the immortality of life, its beauty and loveliness, replete with goodness and joy. His ministry confirmed all that the Scriptures had foretold of the saving grace of Life, Truth, and Love and their power to destroy every claim of sin, sickness, and death.

As recorded in the Gospel of John the Master clearly indicated the eternal nature of the Christ. He told the questioning Jews, "Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day;" and while speaking to the disciples just before his crucifixion, he revealed to them the precious promise of the Christ in these words: "At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you." Could there be a more gracious gift to the sons of men than this assurance of our Lord? But some may ask, When will that day appear, and how shall we know it? This question is of the greatest moment, and it is answered in Christian Science.
