Christian Science found me in a mental state wherein life...
Christian Science found me in a mental state wherein life did not seem worth living, and each day was a struggle. It has brought peace and harmony into my life, and has taught me that it is not where we live so much as it is the state of our thought which brings about right living conditions and beautifies our surroundings.
Christian Science has healed me of unkind criticizing, resentment, nervousness, partial deafness, chronic headaches, and a sense of weariness and fatigue. I was healed of tonsillitis in three days by clinging steadfastly to the statement, "I know no life divided" from my all-harmonious Father-Mother God. The third day my husband, not being interested in Christian Science, called a doctor. I was not resentful, and when I opened "Miscellaneous Writings" these quoted lines from the Bible stood out before me on page 201, "'The law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death;'" and I knew that mortal mind could not govern me through materia medica. The doctor said that before he arrived I had passed the critical point, as the abscesses had broken, and that I was very fortunate. He did not call again.
For these and many other healings I am indeed grateful; also to the practitioner for the patient and loving way she has guided me each time I have asked her for help; and for membership in The Mother Church and a branch church. I thank God for the true and satisfying companionship of the textbook, for class instruction, and for every activity of our Cause.—(Mrs.) Goldie A. Reid, Detroit, Michigan.
