Extracts from Reports of Christian Science Committees on Publication

Over one hundred articles and quotations from the Monitor and the Christian Science Sentinel have been published in Rhode Island newspapers during the past year.

Excerpts from our Lesson-Sermons in the Christian Science Quarterly are now published regularly each week in ten newspapers. It is impossible to estimate the good work that is being done through the publishing of these citations. Many people, no doubt, receive their first introduction to Christian Science through them, while many others are learning that Christian Science is based on the Bible, and that it is the basis of our Lesson-Sermons.

Our relation with other denominations continues to be friendly. But one sermon on Christian Science has been brought to the attention of the Committee the past year, which was in a series of sermons on modern religions. A personal contact was established with the minister, and authorized literature, including two biographies of our Leader, were offered and very gratefully accepted. This Committee was able to answer a number of questions about our activities, and the minister, after attending a Wednesday evening meeting and also a lecture, presented a very fair sermon on Christian Science. This Committee was asked to speak at a meeting of the young people's society connected with one of the Episcopal churches and was able to leave with them a better understanding of Christian Science than they had before.
