In January, 1920, I became interested in Christian Science
In January, 1920, I became interested in Christian Science. My first healing, of an ulcerated tooth, was a positive proof to me that the Christ, Truth, heals. The realization came to me through the application of Jesus' saying, "Lo, I am with you alway." For a whole week I had suffered from a swollen face and intense pain, but woke up the next morning entirely free. My second healing was of a bowel condition. For thirty years I had medical treatment for stomach trouble, and one of seven physicians diagnosed it as a bowel condition. I had an instantaneous healing of a skin eruption, due, it was said, to poisons retained in the system; and numerous minor ailments were cured.
I am grateful for membership in a branch church and in The Mother Church. I have learned in Christian Science that true happiness is found in giving, sharing, comforting, healing. The Lesson-Sermons in the Christian Science Quarterly, our Reading Rooms, church services, business meetings, and literature have all been of great assistance to me in pointing out the way and in the solution of various problems. I rejoice to follow our Leader, and I endeavor to exemplify the teachings of the Sermon on the Mount, as she did.—(Mrs.) Clara L. Smith, Hamburg, Pennsylvania.
