"The vision infinite"
As students of Christian Science know, the world's unhappiness, its limitation, are not experienced because there is no good to be seen. The reason is that the individual's gaze stops short; it is not directed to abundant good, is not allowed to reach outward and onward to behold the glories of God's ever present goodness. Grander views than any seen with mortal eyes have been obtained, and wider outlooks reached than any dreamed of in mortal planning; but never is this accomplished while one's gaze remains fettered by sense-testimony, for mortal mind believes only what it perceives and sees only as it believes. To see good one must see the good which really is at hand: see God ever here and everywhere. Is not this "the vision infinite"?
Our beloved Leader so clearly discerned the ever-presence of good, God, His infinity and omnipotence, that it enabled her to see through the supposititious conditions called limitation, disease, or any other lack of good. She faced them not only fearlessly but victoriously as well. Could the Christian Science movement have prospered if her vision had been of finite good? Could The Mother Church have been founded or grown into such breadth and beauty and blessing without her understanding of God's infinite goodness? Christian Scientists must strive for the outreaching vision of God, divine Love, as infinite.
What emancipation comes when Christian Science enters into one's thought and living! Words fail to express the full measure of peace and freedom and joy students of Christian Science experience as they learn to discern man's spiritual, immortal nature and to behold in Science the perfect child of God. True vision may be defined as looking through the eyes of love. Prayer by prayer "the vision infinite grows clearer" until proof comes that eternity is present.
