For many years Christian Science has been the only...
For many years Christian Science has been the only physician in our family, and we have experienced many wonderful healings.
Several months ago when my husband and I were a long distance from home, we received a telephone message that our son, a boy of sixteen, suddenly had been taken ill at the school he was attending. Due to our absence, the head master had insisted upon calling a doctor, who diagnosed the illness as acute appendicitis, and stated that unless the boy were operated upon immediately, the result might be fatal.
A sense of fear threatened to overwhelm me, but in a few moments I was able to realize that God is everywhere and that no harm could come to His child. We telephoned to a practitioner in Boston, and although our home was in New York, she lovingly agreed to go there at once and to start work for the boy immediately. As we were in Florida, some fourteen hundred miles away, it seemed wise to have her take complete charge of the situation, for we had already attempted by telephone to have the boy taken to a sanatorium for Christian Scientists near the school, only to be told that there was no room for him and not even a Christian Science nurse available.
