When attending my first Wednesday evening testimonial...
When attending my first Wednesday evening testimonial meeting, I was advised to read "the scientific statement of being," on page 468 of Science and Health. I did so, and since that day nineteen years ago I have received innumerable blessings. I turned to Christian Science after all else had failed, and received immediate relief. I was able to put aside drugs and material remedies and to depend solely on God. I found that only to the degree in which I lived in obedience to the Bible, as Christian Science teaches us, did I receive my blessings. I learned that God does "heal the sick through man, whenever man is governed by God" (Science and Health, p. 495).
Some of these many blessings were the healing of blood poisoning in a few hours, and protection while driving a heavy truck on a steep hill when the steering parts on the car became useless. At one time I was gradually becoming deaf from an ear trouble for which I had had medical attention for many years. When I really understood God's creation and realized that the ear, as matter, has no sensation or power, I was healed.
Several years ago one of my boys was hurried home from a vacation with all the symptoms of infantile paralysis. With God's help, fear was destroyed, and in a short time the little one slept, and awoke but once during the night. The next morning he was entirely free from any sign of this illness. This was proof that God's law cannot be changed.
