[Original testimony in German]

"Call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee...

"Call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me." These words, learned in a Bible class, were my guiding text when as yet I knew nothing of Christian Science. Three years ago, however, when I found no healing, I questioned the import of these words. A severe case of pleurisy, with constant high fever, chained me to my bed for six months, and the doctor was unable to give me any help. According to his opinion, my only salvation lay in an operation, yet my weak state would not allow this. As a last resort I went to a sanatorium; but the diagnosis of the doctor there, as well as my seeing so many sick people around me, only increased my suffering and despair. My mother learned of Christian Science, and through a practitioner, who patiently worked for me, she sent me various writings by Mary Baker Eddy. I became absorbed in this teaching, and it grew clear to me that the infinite love of our Father-Mother God surrounds me at all times and in every place; also I saw that it was not God's will that I should be among sick people. The thought rose up strongly in me: Free yourself from this mortal belief and know the truth, as Christian Science teaches. I held fast to the truth, and after a short time, to the astonishment of the doctor, I was sufficiently recovered to go home without an operation having been performed.

My family and I have received many blessings through Christian Science, and I wish to express my deep gratitude to our heavenly Father for my healing, and to our revered Leader for her splendid work, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures."
