Folha da Noite

Under the title "Ideas and Facts" there appeared in the edition of the 14th of November some paragraphs relating to Christian Science and the woman who founded this religious movement.

Christian Science is demonstrating, by the physical and moral healing which it brings to those who study it, the truth contained in Mrs. Eddy's teachings. There can be no better testimonial to her life and work than the results obtained by her followers both in their private lives and by their collective work in the movement which she founded and which grows from year to year.

When in 1908 Mrs. Eddy founded the daily newspaper, The Christian Science Monitor, she gave as its object, "To injure no man, but to bless all mankind" (The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany, p. 353). Her teaching triumphed through its divine logic and by the conclusive proofs which it offered to humanity. Christian Science is not a "new medical method" but the religion which cures both physical and mental ills by the application of divine law.
