It is with a deep sense of gratitude that I acknowledge the many benefits received through the study and application of the truth as taught by Christ Jesus, our Way-shower, and revealed to this age by our beloved Leader. About twenty-six years ago Christian Science was presented to my mother, who was at the time a semi-invalid. The doctors had told her that she would never be well again, but would gradually grow worse; then she turned to Christian Science and was healed.

At this time I was away at a boarding school. My mother wrote me of her experience and told me that if I would study certain Bible references, which she inclosed in her letter, and not take any more medicine, she would ask a Christian Science practitioner to give me treatment. Since I was suffering a great deal from dyspepsia and sick headaches I was happy to do as she recommended, and as a result of the practitioner's work and my obedience I was greatly benefited. The dyspepsia entirely disappeared, but the headaches did not yield until I returned home and took up the study of the Bible together with Science and Health.

I can truthfully say that Christian Science has been my only physician all these years and I have never found it wanting when honestly and faithfully applied. I have been healed of colds, influenza, discharging ear, fallen arch, and ulcerated tooth; lost articles have been recovered, and I have experienced protection in accidents.
