In the eleventh chapter of the Gospel of Matthew, Christ Jesus says to us, "Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; of I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls." I longed for this rest, for before I knew of Christian Science I suffered agony as a result of great loss and sorrow; and I was often in despair. The following question at that time greatly troubled me and gave me no peace: Does God send you this burden, as you have been generally taught; and why must you bear it? As soon, however, as I began the study of Christian Science and read the wonderful book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, I was enlightened on these questions to my entire satisfaction.
