One often sees the statement in a testimony that words cannot convey adequately one's gratitude for Christian Science, and that is exactly the case with me. There are so many wonderful healings to record, as well as other blessings, that it is difficult to decide which to tell.
At the outset I must say that I owe all my present domestic happiness to Christian Science, because if it were not for this healing Science and the loving help given by practitioners I have no doubt that my dear wife and at least two of our little ones would long since have passed on. Our eldest boy had an instantaneous healing of an illness from which a friend's little boy had passed on. At six in the evening the practitioner received the telegram asking for help. The lad then still had a high fever, but he fell asleep, and a few minutes after six he came running out of the room perfectly healed. In one case an attack of measles was overcome in three days. Our eldest girl was healed of pneumonia.
Our younger boy broke his leg and also fractured one of the ankle bones. As required by law we called in a doctor, who put the leg in a plaster cast after an X-ray photograph had been taken. The lad had no pain after being put to bed, nor did he have fever at any time, but was quite bright throughout. Before a week had passed he told his mother that he wished the doctor would take off the cast, because his leg was quite well; and although we have no doubt that he was right, we felt at the time that we had to obey the doctor's orders. When eventually the cast was taken off the leg was normal.
