Through the earnest study of Christian Science and with the help of practitioners I have received great encouragement on my journey Spiritward, and have gained new hope and expectancy of all good which only the all-loving Father can bestow.

In my early study of Christian Science I looked mostly to one member of the family for supply. Soon after the armistice of the world war this relative was without employment, as the shipbuilding on the West coast ceased. Our little savings were soon spent in seeking employment. For some time lack seemed very much in evidence, but divine Love always came to our rescue. So I have learned to a much greater extent to seek "first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness," and that then "all these things shall be added."

Becoming slightly interested in Christian Science through the healing of a friend, but not taking up the study at that time, I continued to rely on medical means for physical healing for several years, until Christian Science again found me. At this time it was just natural for me to turn completely to this precious truth. I had two troublesome physical disorders. One was what the doctors called dry catarrh of the head. I took medical treatment for several years at different intervals, and was finally advised to seek a change of climate, which was of no lasting benefit. In time this trouble affected my throat and caused much suffering; and the odor was at times very offensive to others. This condition disappeared through the study of Christian Science.
