In the July 14 issue of the Bulletin an article contains a reference to Christian Science as follows: "Christian Science and Unitarianism and the anti-Scriptural teachings ... are on the air every day." This sentence might be misunderstood as indicating that Christian Science is anti-Scriptural, and lest it be so misunderstood, we should like to point out for the benefit of your readers that Christian Science is based on the Scriptures and follows the teachings and practice of Christ Jesus. For, as Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, states in her textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 126): "The Bible has been my only authority. I have had no other guide in 'the straight and narrow way' of Truth."

The first tenet of Christian Science calls upon all Christian Scientists to accept "the inspired Word of the Bible" as their "sufficient guide to eternal Life" (Science and Health, p. 497), so that there can be no doubt that loyal Christian Scientists are guided by the Scriptures, or, to state this another way, that Christian Science is Scriptural.
