Early in my experience as a Christian Scientist the thought, "Oh, I am so glad that God is God," kept welling up in my heart. In other words, I rejoiced in the knowledge of unchanging Principle, Love, to which I could always turn with thanksgiving for spiritual reality. For many years I have had abundant proof of God's protecting power.
The three boys of our family have received their share of the many healings through Christian Science. With the help of a practitioner a bad case of infection was healed by holding closely the thought expressed in Science and Health (p. 463), "A spiritual idea has not a single element of error, and this truth removes properly whatever is offensive." Another time a wart which appeared on the knuckle and grew larger and more unsightly yielded readily when the truth was authoritatively applied. A severe case of membranous croup was quickly healed by my steadfastly refusing to be alarmed, definitely handling every claim of error audibly and declaring the truth. The little boy, between gasps, called, "Tell me more."
These are three instances out of many beautiful healings. Through many years I have had the loving counsel and help of a teacher, and I am deeply grateful. I give thanks for every phase of the Christian Science movement so wisely provided by Mrs. Eddy.
