Peace

The promise is, "Great peace have they which love thy law,"
A peace that stands unmoved as worldly sagas roll;
Enduring peace, a faithful, forward-pressing peace,
That moves unhurried and unshackled to its goal.

Great peace—a peace that looks with undistracted eye
Upon the dreams of mortal pain and power, begirt
With knowledge of His law, the secret harmony
Maintained by Him who holds man in His care, unhurt.
