For my wonderful healing through Christian Science, I should like to express my deepest thanks.

For ten years I was greatly distressed with a stubborn internal trouble, and was a burden to myself and my family. The year 1930 was the most difficult for me, but at the same time it was also the happiest, for Christian Science came into my life. My anxiety drove me from doctor to doctor, but not one of them could determine what was the matter with me. I turned to homeopathy and for a time my faith in it brought me relief. Then the trouble returned, more severe than before. A celebrated doctor performed an operation on my throat and removed the tonsils, but even that brought no relief and I grew worse. I could eat scarcely anything. Also treatment by a hypnotist was without success.

I searched for God, attended the services of the Established Church, and anxiously listened for a word of comfort, but found no help. Then I fell ill and had a very high fever for four consecutive weeks. My weight dropped from one hundred and thirty-five to eighty-five pounds. From the consultation of three doctors at my bedside I gathered that I would not be able to stand the strain much longer. I lay on my side where I could look right into the deep blue sky, and I thought, O Father above, send me a ray of light; let me stay with my dear ones; whereupon a great sense of peace came over me. A short time later a dear friend of our family called up, and my husband told him our trouble. This friend then said that Christian Science could help even in the greatest need. He immediately called for a practitioner, who had sat by my bed barely an hour when I broke into a profuse perspiration, and the fever disappeared. For six weeks I had been offered only distasteful beverages and broths, but now I wanted a fresh egg, which I enjoyed. The next day I sat up in an armchair and read the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, and drank in the truth like one parched with thirst. My recovery went on rapidly and after two weeks I could go to the practitioner myself. My healing was then complete, and I was reminded of Jesus' words, "Arise, and walk."
