With a heart full of gratitude I send this testimony to the healing and sustaining power of divine Love, as taught in Christian Science. It was thirty-five years ago that my mother first heard of this Science, and she immediately became an earnest student. I was a small child, but I began to read the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and firmly believed all I read.
Shortly afterwards my grandfather was healed of a cancer, after the doctors had declared that nothing but an operation would cure him. He lived eighteen years after that and never had any return of the trouble. He was also healed of a double rupture when he was eighty-four years old.
My first healing was of a persistent cough. Being considered a frail child, said to be partly due to two attacks of pneumonia before I was six years old, I usually coughed all winter, and my parents feared I might develop lung trouble. I was permanently healed of the cough through my reading of the textbook, when I was nine years old. Several years later I was healed of goiter. This was considered hereditary in our family.
