I am indeed thankful for the joyous privilege of voicing...
I am indeed thankful for the joyous privilege of voicing my gratitude for the transforming and healing power of Christian Science through our beloved periodicals as well as at the Wednesday evening testimony meetings. For many years I have found health and happiness through radical reliance on and the right application of this truth, when material methods of searching had availed me nothing.
In my own experience I have learned that the study of this very practical Science of Christianity will surely bring peace and joy if Mrs. Eddy's admonition found on page 495 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" is followed: "Let Christian Science, instead of corporeal sense, support your understanding of being, and this understanding will supplant error with Truth, replace mortality with immortality, and silence discord with harmony." I have found through this study that physical ills have been replaced with harmony and health as thoughts of fear, criticism, self-pity, self-justification, and many others of their kind have been replaced with thoughts of love, justice, kindness, honesty, gentleness, and gratitude.
We have had some glorious proofs of God's healing power in our family. Through a Christian Science practitioner's clear realization of perfect man I was instantly healed of rheumatism. For two days I had suffered intensely when I attempted to walk. As there was no improvement on the third morning a practitioner was called, and within an hour I was entirely free. That day I walked about two miles.
