Excerpts from an Address on Christian Science by Louis A. Du Bois, before the Rotary Club of Bay Shore and Islip, under the direction of the Christian Science Committee on Publication for the State of New York

In Christian Science there is only one business, and that is God's business. Christ Jesus referred to it as "my Father's business." It is, therefore, infinite, perfect, always good. The business of the creator of the universe is, therefore, our business. It helps us a great deal to know this fact, because the more we know about the true business the more success we shall be in the right way.

One may say, I am in the lumber business; others, in real estate, shoes, or banking; and you may all ask, Are these human endeavors and activities part of God's business? The answer is that human endeavors are successful and truly profitable in proportion as they rest upon and express divine ideas. God, divine Mind, is the source of all right ideas.

Mrs. Eddy says in her book "Miscellaneous Writings" (p. 307), "God gives you His spiritual ideas, and in turn, they give you daily supplies." No one of us is cut off from this vital stream of divine ideas. The ideas of life and substance come to us from God, and more clearly to perceive these ideas we should turn to that source. God gives us courage, intelligence, patience, vision, activity, justice, compensation, and gratitude.
