[Written Especially for Children]

What Can the Children Bring?

Young scholars often wonder what they may bring to Sunday school; how they may help to bring out the active interest and joyous atmosphere so much appreciated by both teacher and pupil. The Sunday school is surely a sanctuary where pure and lovely thoughts are entertained. Love, helpfulness, attention, obedience, and watchfulness are among the mental qualities which usher in these pure thoughts.

The loving thinking of teachers and scholars might be likened to doors—not closed and barred from within, but opened wide, that the light of Christ may pass through to uplift and bless. "Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it."

Many a time a boy or a girl has expressed some thought which has found instant response in another's consciousness and brought other ideas into expression. This alertness ensures sturdy growth in spiritual understanding, and each and all can do their share in coming to their much loved class.
