Through the daily study and application of Christian Science...
Through the daily study and application of Christian Science I have received many blessings. About eight years ago I was told by doctors (one of them a specialist) that I was suffering from a severe internal trouble that could be cured only by an operation. Having undergone several operations, I was not desirous of having another. Somehow, with much suffering, I managed to exist without the operation until what I greatly feared came upon me—an only child very suddenly passed on. At this time it seemed there was nothing to live for; or, in other words, I found myself at the Red Sea place of my life, where there was no other way but through. But how to get through was the question then foremost in my mind. This prayer was answered when a neighbor lovingly invited me to go to a Christian Science practitioner. I knew nothing about Christian Science and had never looked into a Bible, but I had always believed in God. I went to this practitioner expecting to get relief, but I was healed in one treatment of the sense of separation and of the internal trouble. Since then, through Christian Science treatment, I have been healed of defective eyesight, rheumatism, boils, influenza, and many other discordant conditions.
For all of this I am truly grateful, but I am more grateful for the fact that Christian Science is teaching me to love not only those who first love me, but also those who do not seem to. My constant prayer is that I may be a Christian Scientist in deed. I am sincerely grateful to our heavenly Father, to Mrs. Eddy, our beloved Leader, and to those loyal practitioners who lovingly helped me whenever I needed it.
(Mrs.)Laura M. Grub, Chicago, Illinois.
