Hymn

Dear Father, whose renewing grace
Falls softly on our darkened road,
To give us courage for the race
And strength to bear the seeming load,

Help us to turn in love to Thee
Each moment, when in doubt or fear,
Remembering Thou hast made us free,
And that Thy help is ever near.

No trial upon the rugged way
Can be too great, if upward still
We steadfast walk toward the day
That breaks upon Thy holy hill.

Thy voice within aspiring hearts
Is ever ready to be heard,
And as the mist of night departs,
We wake in wonder at Thy Word.

Thy steadfast blessing ever stays,
To rest on all who seek Thine aid,
Lifting us from unreal ways
To heavenly places Thou hast made.

Dear Father, we can ask no more
Than Thou bestowest—every hour;
And as we find Thee, and adore,
We feel the glory of Thy power.
