In March, 1927, I suddenly became ill with a serious case of erysipelas. All at once I was so weak that I could scarcely think or get a clear thought regarding my condition. I had a great feeling of peace and confidence, and not a moment of anxiety, while I received treatment from a faithful Christian Science practitioner. Improvement was manifested and I progressed rapidly, until on the seventh day I was able to get up for a little while. I was deeply grateful for this beautiful and quick demonstration, which greatly astonished those around me, especially a doctor who is a member of our family.
What makes me even more grateful to God, and increases my regard for Christian Science and its revered Discoverer and Founder, Mary Baker Eddy, is that instead of feeling weakened or spent after this illness I felt stronger than ever before, and certain limiting thoughts regarding age and health also disappeared, to my great joy. Moreover, I have become deeply conscious that each trial overcome by Truth is a step forward in spiritual understanding, and that God turns the trial into a blessing. This beautiful healing took place when I was seventy-one years of age, and for this healing I give praise to God.—(Mrs.)Augusta Delarue-Gaberel, Geneva, Switzerland.
