It is with a heart full of gratitude for the many blessings...
It is with a heart full of gratitude for the many blessings I have received through Christian Science that I send this testimony.
When Christian Science first came into my experience I was suffering from tuberculosis. For years I had believed that I had inherited this disease. At this time I had been in a semiconscious condition for several days. Arrangements were being made by the physicians in charge to send me to a sanitarium for treatment when a friend suggested to a member of the family that we try Christian Science. A practitioner was called, and this Christian woman's understanding of man's relationship to God was so pure and clear that I was instantaneously healed and immediately arose. Several months after this experience my father passed on with this trouble, and then a brother. I was wonderfully sustained through Christian Science at this time, and no thought of fear entered my consciousness, for which I can never be grateful enough.
Four years ago a member of my family was suddenly stricken with what the physicians diagnosed as paralysis, high blood pressure, and kidney trouble. They said he would never be able to follow the work in which he had formerly been engaged, that he would always have to be under the care of physicians, and that he would never have normal blood pressure except under the most rigid diet. After he had been under the care of many physicians for a year, some of these difficulties returned with renewed force. At this time I asked him to try Christian Science, and he consented. A practitioner was called, and in a week he was perfectly normal; in ten days he was at work after a year's absence. Shortly after this, while he was out of the city, an insurance policy lapsed and on his return he was told that in order to renew this policy he would have to undergo a physical examination. The physician who examined him said he was physically perfect, with no trace of these former ailments. So we know that in Christian Science, as Mrs. Eddy says in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 463), "A spiritual idea has not a single element of error, and this truth removes properly whatever is offensive."
