Christian Science has proved to be the greatest blessing...
Christian Science has proved to be the greatest blessing that ever came into my life. It has healed me of all desire for tobacco, of which I used a great deal; and I have many times been healed of severe colds.
The sustaining power of Truth was clearly proved in the following experiences. Some four years ago, while I was working a coal grinding machine, my thumb was caught in two gear wheels and this stopped the machine. I pulled myself free and found that the thumb was badly crushed and the nail twisted on one side. On reaching home I asked for help from a Christian Science practitioner. Work was taken up, and the thumb soon regained its normal appearance.
Two years ago I was attacked by an illness, and asked the same practitioner for help. This was on a Sunday and I continued at my work until the following Wednesday morning, when I was told to get a doctor's note. The report stated that I had a whitlow, and also a carbuncle which had turned septic. The practitioner was informed of this and continued to work for me. On the following Monday two doctors were talking about amputating part of my finger; but due to the consecrated work of the practitioner the opinion was given the next night that such a course would be unnecessary. Many false conditions which arose, such as violent sickness, loss of sleep, constipation, and a big lump under the arm, were very effectively dealt with by the practitioner, the doctor not being told about them. I did not spend a day in bed, and there was no period of convalescence following the healing.
