It is my desire to express my gratitude for all that Christian Science has done and is doing for me every day. Over ten years ago I heard of it for the first time through a healing which I had after an accident. I began to study this Science; and though I thought I understood it, I discovered differently. However, it wrought a change in my life. I was working at that time as a Deaconess hospital nurse, but after a while I saw that it would be better for me to give up this work because it did not agree with the teachings of Christian Science. At the time I laid aside my work I was in a state of uncertainty about myself, and through fighting many difficulties realized that I had not gained the true idea of Christian Science. Happily for me, there were real friends who helped me to gain a better understanding. Many bad faults of character were overcome; and with the help of a practitioner I was freed from severe attacks of headache.

After a few months I found my present work, and since then Christian Science has become clearer to me, and I can really say that I am newborn through this Science. In every way I am happier and different from what I was ten years ago. Formerly I had a weak constitution, but I am now strong and healthy. Through Christian Science I am gaining spiritual understanding, and I am very thankful that Mrs. Eddy discovered this truth for the whole world. The Bible and our textbook are my spiritual food at the beginning of each day, and it is a blessing to have and to study the other authorized Christian Science literature.

I have had several other healings in Christian Science, the most important of which were of pneumonia, hemorrhage of the stomach, an arm which I could not use in the right way, and attacks of pain. The last healing came after an operation during which traces of cancer were found. Before I knew of Christian Science one of my legs was shorter than the other, necessitating a special shoe. This leg became completely normal without treatment, and I can now wear an ordinary shoe.
