A Supplication

BERNICE M. WELLS

O God, with humble heart I Thee beseech,
Guard Thou my every thought, my deeds, my speech;
Help me to think Thy thoughts, to do Thy will—
To heed Thy sweet, assuring: Peace, be still!

O God, I pray Thee, teach me how to live,
Enrich my life, that I may ever give
Unsparingly the gifts Thou givest me:
Joy, love divine—ah, ceaseless trust in Thee!
