A number of years ago I was healed of the bad effects of an accident. I had been thrown forcibly on a fence and had received internal injuries which troubled me for seven years afterwards. Prominent physicians had said I should probably never recover from them; but through the loving ministrations of a Christian Science practitioner in a few weeks I was permanently healed. At the same time I received three other healings: constipation was overcome; the harmful effects of a theory called mental science were entirely rooted out; and a tendency to lean on personality was corrected. This last is a healing for which I have felt a great sense of joy. It has saved me from much that would have meant sorrow to me, in being separated from those who have come into my experience.

The joy of class instruction has been mine, as well as membership in The Mother Church and a branch church. I have known of many cases of permanent healing in Christian Science, including severe cases of neuritis and pneumonia. Jesus said, "I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly." Our Leader says, "With Christ, Life was not merely a sense of existence, but a sense of might and ability to subdue material conditions" (Unity of Good, p. 42). This is being experienced by Christian Scientists today.
