An article in your issue of April 19 last falls so far short of the fact regarding Christian Science healing that I am asking for space for correction.

Christian Science is not psychology, nor is the practice of Christian Science "the application of psychology to healing," as the most casual comparison of definitions of terms will show. Christian Science is the law of divine Mind, God, the law of infinite and ever present good, which, when understood, unfolds in human consciousness, and thereby destroys false beliefs, or so-called diseases, today as it did in Jesus' time. The utilization of this law explains why the author of the article previously referred to was able to speak in such truthful but glowing terms of the growth of Christian Science throughout the world.

What is the explanation? The answer is expressed in a single word—gratitude. The uncounted thousands who have been raised from beds of pain, retrieved from sentences of death, and lifted out of the mire of poverty and despair, know and have proved to a degree that all the so-called ills of mankind are but illusions of belief, dream-shadows, which the truths of immortal Mind destroy. For this understanding and proof they are grateful not in words only, but also in deeds. The growth of Christian Science is the inevitable consequence.
