Man's Best Connection

THOSE engaged in commercial and professional pursuits regard as important the making of connections which will result in profit. This is proper, as channels must be found for custom; but men should not forget their connection with their creator.

The Scriptures contain assurances to those who rely upon God for satisfactory results in commercial and professional pursuits. "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths." Does not this promise apply directly to our business? Does it not indicate clearly that man's connection with his creator should be the first consideration? Maintaining this connection is followed by the human adjustments which apply to all needs.

Here the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science can be quoted with benefit to all who are in search of freedom from commercial and professional burdens. On page 128 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" Mary Baker Eddy says that "business men and cultured scholars have found that Christian Science enhances their endurance and mental powers, enlarges their perception of character, give them acuteness and comprehensiveness and an ability to exceed their ordinary capacity." There can be nothing more profitable spiritually than to let thought dwell on the profound and inexhaustible subject of God as creator and man as His likeness.
