Little Things

The little things, just little things,
Oh, may they be my task!
If not for me the bigger things,
For little things, I ask.

The tender smile, the gentle word,
Are little, little things;
But they may help some weary one
To rise on stronger wings.

Oh, may the loving little things
I do along life's way,
Help lift the gloom, help hearts to sing—
Turn darkness into day!
