"And he arose, and came to his father." These familiar words from the Bible serve to illustrate my mental state after years of suffering from sin, sickness, and discord of many sorts. A few years prior to this awakening, at my own wish, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy was given to me by my mother. For two years I glanced now and then at its pages, only doing a tittle reading at the request of a practitioner whom I had sought to help my little girl, who was ill. The progress had been slow under materia medica, but when Science was applied the recovery was speedy. Even with this absolute evidence of healing, I still continued indifferent to the call of Truth for another year. Then, with my family separated, home gone, and no employment, I again visited the practitioner and unburdened my woes. Through the loving help she gave me I was able to continue on my way to the Father.

Christian Science has increased my ability, made me more capable, lightened responsibility, and brought forth many opportunities. The liquor habit left me; deafness in one ear was overcome; and my sight was renewed. I was also healed of stomach trouble, colds, and coughs; and profanity was destroyed. I think God for Christian Science and praise Him for our great Leader, Mrs. Eddy, and for her love for mankind. I am grateful for membership in The Mother Church and a branch church, and for class instruction.—
