At the age of fourteen, while I was helping my father at the brickyards, my hand was badly crushed between two rollers. I was rushed to a hospital, where I lay in bed for six weeks. At this time I knew nothing about Christian Science. The doctors did all they could, but I kept growing weaker. They said they could do no more for my hand, and that it would always be stiff and useless. After the doctors told my parents this, they began to look for a different method by which I could be healed. One day they picked up a Christian Science Sentinel, which had been sent to us by my aunt in another state, and began to read it. They then went to see a practitioner and asked for help. The night of the first Christian Science treatment I had the first all-night's rest for five weeks. After four days I was taken home. I was too weak to walk without help, but in three days was able to be up and walk about the yard. I went to school three weeks after leaving the hospital. Within five months my hand was completely healed. I could then enjoy outdoor sports as well as anybody.
My father has been healed of rupture, quinsy, and several other ailments. Everyone in our family has been helped through Christian Science. I have become a regular attendant at a Christian Science Sunday School.
I am sure that Christian Science will help others as much as it has helped us.—Loren Keeney, Denver, Colorado.
