With a deep sense of gratitude to God and to Mary Baker Eddy...
With a deep sense of gratitude to God and to Mary Baker Eddy I humbly offer my testimony in the hope of helping foreigners who come to this country. I came from Hungary to the United States at the age of seventeen years. I was uneducated, did not know one word of English, and was friendless and alone. After some years of hardships, I became depressed and resentful; malice, hatred, unkindness, bitterness, bad temper, and hard-heartedness manifested themselves in my thought. I came to California and secured a position as housekeeper in a home where one member of the household was a Christian Scientist. Through her loving guidance I was led into Christian Science and have become an earnest and devout student.
By reading "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy I was healed of the above-named unlovely traits of character, and this book of truth has been my only means of obtaining an education in the English language, which enabled me to become a naturalized citizen. I have become more refined, joyous, kindly, happy, peaceful; I have received abundantly and have given in like measure. I love and am loved by a circle of fine friends. I am still employed by the same family (twelve years); my home life is harmonious, and I try to give my best in return.
I have also been healed of severe pain in my legs; at one time one leg was badly drawn up, but in three days this condition was entirely met. I am so grateful for being able to know something of the real man, God's perfect expression.—(Mrs.) Susie Toth, Los Angeles, California.
