It is with an increasing sense of gratitude that I submit the following testimony to the efficacy of Christian Science.

Since childhood I had suffered from an outward goiter. Every material remedy was tried, internally and externally, but none successfully; as a result, it was decided that an operation would be necessary.

My brother had meanwhile been interested in Christian Science for some time, but the rest of the family were very much prejudiced against it. However, during my first year in high school, he persuaded me to have Christian Science treatment for abscesses in both ears which had seemed to result from compulsory vaccination for smallpox.
