On page 8 of your issue of February 3 there is a report of a sermon; and a paragraph of this report deals with the preacher's views on what he describes as "fancy religions."

His statements in this paragraph regarding Christian Science are incorrect, and can only have been made in ignorance of the teachings and practice of Christian Science.

The Church of Christ, Scientist, was founded by Mary Baker Eddy more than fifty years ago "To commemorate the word and works of our Master, which should reinstate primitive Christianity and its lost element of healing" (Church Manual, p. 17). Thus it will be seen that Christian Science is not a "fancy religion," as stated by the reverend gentleman.
