In your issue of March 28 there appeared a brief review of two books. Since the caption "Christian Science" was used in this review, your readers may possibly confuse the teachings of Christian Science with spiritualism and theosophy, to which the author evidently refers. I shall be glad therefore if you will publish this letter.

Both spiritualism and theosophy are contrary to the teachings of Christian Science. Christian Science teaches that there is no reincarnation, as accepted in certain Oriental religions, no communication with the dead, that man is not a part of God but is the reflection of God; as a ray of light reflects the sun so man reflects God.

On page 258 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" Mrs. Eddy writes: "Man is more than a material form with a mind inside, which must escape from its environments in order to be immortal. Man reflects infinity, and this reflection is the true idea of God." As mankind learn this fact, they put off the old man with his deeds and put on the new man; in other words, they measurably put on the Mind that was in Christ Jesus, and in that proportion they are freed from false material laws, conditions, and environments.
